Tax planning, tax return preparation and much more

Our job is to see that you pay no more tax than the law requires. We stay current with the changes in the tax law that will affect you, and we recommend tax-saving strategies. We not only prepare your tax returns for you to file but, also, we serve as your advocate in all tax matters.

If the Internal Revenue Service or any other government agency contacts you concerning your tax matters, your first call should be to us. We will go wherever necessary to take care of your tax problems so that you can stay and get on with your business.

Tax planning

Today’s tax laws are so complex and ever-changing that unless your personal and business financial affairs are extremely simple, you will benefit from occasionally meeting with a tax professional. It is too easy to overlook tax strategies, tax deductions and credits if you prepare only one tax return a year. Even if you use computer software, it is no substitute for the assistance of a seasoned tax advisor and preparer.

We prepare hundreds of tax returns every year for individuals, corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. We know what to look for when your return is prepared. More importantly, you have someone to ask questions of during the rest of the year. And we will put you on our mailing list to receive timely tax, financial and business advice.

Basic tax planning generally includes one or more basic tax-cutting strategies. These basic strategies include:

  • Splitting income among several family members of legal entities in order to get more of the income taxed at lower tax brackets.
  • Deferring tax liability through certain investment choices and through retirement plan contributions.
  • Shifting income from one year to another in order to have the income fall in a year it will be taxed at a lower rate.
  • Shifting deductions from one year to another to place them in the year when the tax benefit will be greater.
  • Structuring your affairs to obtain a business or personal tax deduction from some expenses paid for things that you enjoy, such as a vacation home, for one example.
  • Investing your money to produce income that is exempt or deferred from either federal or state income tax or both.

Call us for tax help, and we will arrange a consultation to discuss your business, financial and tax situation. If your financial affairs are simple, we may have a short meeting. If you have extensive holdings or problems, your needs may be more complicated and should be treated accordingly. Call us at 317-844-1303 or email us.
